What is this you say, another episode only a week away from the last one we released. Marty and I had some unfinished business after the Happy Mitten Episode and needed to get out the goodness to y’all. Marty does a great job explaining the XCOM game and if things keep going the way they are, he might have it up for trade. Even with his pain of the dice in the game, he gives it a Game to Buy on the RO Scale.
I review a Dr. Finn game Let Them Eat Shrimp! which I believe has made its way around the game reviewer circle. For what it is worth, if you have young kids that enjoy Blokus, you might want to think about this game. Or if you are like me and have elder parents, you might want to think about this game. Placing tiles strategically helps those of advanced years keep spatial relations in my opinion. I am sure some person at the Helsinki Institute did research on it, but I am too lazy to go look for it.
Next we talk about the new TMG game Harbour that I really enjoyed and so glad Marty did the Kickstarter for it. But, you, our listeners, have a chance at winning a copy of the game. Just head over to our survey and supply some really simple answers and based on our favorite answer for why you need a new worker placement game will determine the winner.
We then discuss to big news events and two Kickstarters that may or may not be your cup of tea, but wanted to bring them to your attention. Go check out Wizard Dodgeball and Tic Tac Toe Tee for more information if you are interested
For The Broken Token contest, you have to tweet to @DiceAndNames a picture of why you need a 7 Wonder Insert or Dead of Winter Insert to win. Or you can post a picture as described above on the BGG Guild Contest thread. Either one will get you in this contest. Contests end as stated in Episode 59.
